Holker Hall and Gardens is hosting an interactive mystery-cum-scavenger hunt Easter event.

Malice in Wonderland is set to unravel on Easter Sunday, March 31.

Families will channel their inner detectives, uncovering the odd character behind the jam tart theft with the aid of clues, bizarre quests, and riddles.

A child's ticket at £15 enables free entry for one adult, with additional adults at £5.

The entire quest is designed to be completed within an hour and a half.

Fran Horne, head of visitor services, said: "We're so excited to welcome our visitors for the start of the 2024 season.

“We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to offer an even better experience for our visitors, including improvements to the famous water cascade and a wonderful new children’s area, Willow’s Den, to play in and explore.

“The arrival of Spring is always a magical time in our gardens, and so there is no better location to host an array of Easter family fun events.

“Whether you are creative, like to let your imagination run wild, or want to simply enjoy the beautiful gardens and refuel in the cafe, Holker Hall and Gardens will offer something for everyone this bank holiday weekend.”

The Holker Hall characters, in full costume, will quirkily guide the detectives to uncover clues, complete quests and unravel riddles.

On the Saturday and Sunday, families can enjoy festivities including face painting, egg decorating, and a chance to buy Easter posies from In the Meadow

From Good Friday, March 29, to Easter Monday, April 1, an enthralling treasure hunt awaits, sprawling across the 23 acre wonderland of Holker Hall's formal and woodland gardens.

The child's ticket for the main event on Sunday also covers egg decorating and rolling.

If visitors decide not to join in solving the jam thief mystery, they can pay separately for entry to the other garden events only.
