Police officers in Barrow have been focusing their efforts on making people more aware if child exploitation in the area.
Members of the Barrow Child Centred Policing team joined forces with the Furness Child Exploitation team to host a drop-in session on Thursday afternoon.
This was held at the Barrow Family Hub, who said that it was 'lovely' to have the teams there for such an important programme.
The aim of the exercise was to provide further guidance to parents and professionals on how to prevent child exploitation.
The efforts were part of Operation Makesafe, a national initiative focused on making sure that people working in the business sectors are aware of the early warning signs of child exploitation.
This should then encourage more people to contact the police, with earlier action the key to preventing such incidents.
