Two top British guitarists will be bringing the best of rock music to Ulverston.

Jim Kirkpatrick and Paul Rose, forming the band GUITAR HEADS, will perform at the town's Roxy on April 26 at 8pm.

Boasting an impressive music portfolio, both Kirkpatrick and Rose are renowned within the industry, with decades of studio work and touring with notable music figures.

Their band's objective, as straightforward as it sounds, is to entertain audiences by performing some of the most adored guitar classics from the past seven decades including the likes of Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple, AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton, Hendrix and more.

Jim Kirkpatrick's career spans more than 25 years, building a solid reputation for his versatility and talent, particularly in slide guitar and fingerpicking style.

He has worked with the likes of Bernie Marsden, John ‘Rhino’ Edwards from Status Quo and served as FM’s lead guitarist for many years.

Equally admired, Paul Rose, once dubbed "Guitarist of the Year" by Guitarist magazine and champion of a Fender competition judged by Rory Gallagher, has also made an impressive impact within the industry.

He’s worked with the likes of Michael Schenker and John ‘Rabbit’ Bundrick, with an endorsement last year from George Lowden guitars, which also supports Ed Sheeran.

The duo will be accompanied by Harry James and Chris Childs, the powerful rhythm section of British rock giants, 'THUNDER'. Thunder gained significant success with their 1990 debut album, Backstreet Symphony and 1992 follow-up, Laughing on Judgement Day, which reached number 2 in the UK Albums Chart.

They continued to maintain this success with two top 10 albums in 2015 and 2017.

The Roxy’s proprietor, Charles Morris, expressed enthusiasm for the forthcoming concert following the success of a T Rex gig last December.

He said: "This exciting new band will be on the road with a debut UK tour in April and we have been fortunate enough to secure them for one night at the Roxy.

"The atmosphere at the last gig was amazing; I’m sure it will be equally good this time."

For those eager to catch this highly anticipated concert, advanced tickets are now available for £18 from The Roxy’s website.
