A hospice based in Ulverston is hopeful that the power of nature can help people living with dementia.

Working in partnership with Dignity in Dementia, St Mary's Hospice is hosting monthly 'Woodland Wellness' sessions.

With the next group meeting on March 20, the charity is on the lookout for new volunteers to come forward and help out with the participants.

The group meets at the Cavendish Room in the hospice, with the sessions taking place between 1:30pm and 3:15pm.

The idea behind the group is focused on how spending time outdoors and close to nature can have a 'hugely positive' effect on wellbeing.

Open to people living with dementia and their carers or family, you can book a spot on one of the many sessions this year by calling the Living Well Centre on 01229 444407.
