The Terrace at Brantwood is getting ready to host their first Food & Folk event of the year.

The café on the East side of Coniston water is inviting everyone to join them for a ‘relaxed gathering celebrating good food, good music, and good company’ on Saturday April 13.

The Food & Folk evening will start with a snack from the chef and welcome drinks on arrival before a four course tasting menu and entertainment.

There is a choice of two four course tasting menus, the Scavenger’s selection for meat lovers, and the Herbalist’s cuisine for vegetarians.

Those who choose the Scavenger’s menu will be served bacon and smoked cheese Arancini for a starter, then fried chicken with pink pickles, followed by slow roasted venison in a rich malbec sauce and finishing with a sweet apple and raspberry tart and vanilla ice cream.

Herbalist’s will start with a wild garlic risotto with pickled peas, then soy braised carrot with caramel oat crunch, followed by roasted beetroot and tomato ragu with homemade tagliatelle topped with a walnut crumb and end with the same sweet apple and raspberry tart.

There will be live folk music performing all night, including The Bimble Brothers, The Tailgate Buskers and Christian Stretton.

Doors will open at 6:30pm, with seats at £55 per person, head to their website to book your place.
