THE cheapest places to live in Furness have been revealed, with average house prices less than £150,000 in one town.

Cardinal Steels and the Online Marketing Surgery have compiled a housing price report based on figures from HM Land Registry.

According to the figures, the cheapest place to live based on average house price (year to December 2023) is Dalton

On average, prices in the historic capital of Furness are only £142,351.

This is followed by Ravenglass and Millom, with prices £160,000 and £164,163 respectively.

The most expensive place to live, perhaps unsurprisingly given that it is in the heart of the Lake District, is Ambleside. House prices cost an average of £581,587 to live in one of the most famous market towns in the country.

Holmrook and Windermere take second and third place, at £503,143 and £471,865 respectively.
