A BARROW gym welcomed representatives from the National Amateur Body-Builders' Association North West (NABBA NW) for a tour.

The Transformation Unit 24/7 on Forge Close was delighted to show off their hard work to Tim and Baz from NABBA NW.

Head bodybuilding coach Kade Kendall, who owns the Transformation Unit and boasts a collection of his own impressive bodybuilding titles, was proud to introduce his team.

Six competitors from the Transformation Unit are entering categories in the NABBA NW 2024 Qualifier for the Britain Finals on May 26 in Southport.

Kade is coaching four of these competitors including Dan Hall, who won IBFA Mr and Mrs Tyneside 2023, for the Under 23s category.

He is also training Ellie Crabtree for the First Timer's and Toned Figure categories, as well as Jake Haughin for First Timer's and Radek Bemler for Under 18s.

Tommy Mcgrath and Jacob Monk are both competing as First Timers and are being coached by Luke Francis.

Kade said NABBA spent the whole day at the gym, taking the time to talk with the people who may be entering their first competition. They took everyone through the poses and walked them through what to expect when up on stage, under the lights for the first time.

NABBA filmed a YouTube video with Kade and some of this year's competitors where they discussed getting 'show ready' and how important it is to practice posing and holding positions.

Kade said: "It feels great to get attention from NABBA and be recognised by the organisers. They said how impressed they were with the talent at the Transformation Unit and how they can't wait to see them on stage.

"Competitors have a tough 12 weeks ahead of them but it should be another good, successful year for the Transformation Unit."

All of the athletes will be in shows either side of the main competition as they prepare for the qualifier.
