A boy in Ambleside is proving to be a big hit on the running scene after more accolades came his way.
Tom Craker, a Year Six pupil at Ambleside Primary School, finished third at the National Primary and Year Seven Cross Country Championships on Sunday.
He has recently been winning Kendal winter league races and has a personal best time of 19.09 minutes at the 5k Rothay Parkrun.
Tom said, "When I run, I'm one step away from an excellent mood!"
His teacher, Megan Rimmer, added: "Tom is a valued member of Ambleside fell running club and is known throughout school for his amazing running abilities.
"Whenever we've taken Tom to running events and competitions, he always shows exceptional sportsmanship and humility when accepting his achievements.
"His passion and dedication for running is evident and is a shining example to his peers - we are very proud of him!"
