On-call firefighters working in Arnside have been commended for their service to the local community.

The station hosted a special presentation evening on Monday night with certificates handed out by area manager Lauren Woodward.

This was the latest in a number of events being held by Cumbria Fire and Rescue across Cumbria in which they are celebrating the work of their crews.

The fire service said: "We also thank the firefighters' families and primary employers for their support, which affords the crew the time and availability to attend incidents, carry out training and deliver community engagement."
