A Barrow pub will host a 12-day beer festival featuring pints that cost less than £2.50.

Spanning from Wednesday, March 6 to Sunday, March 17, the festival at The Furness Railway will showcase a selection of 20 real ales, including five specially imported from breweries in Taiwan, Germany, USA, Belgium and Italy.

The pub, located on Abbey Road, plans to include several beers brewed especially for the occasion.

The diversified list includes vegan selections also suitable for vegetarians, and features an array of malt and hop variants.

Some of the unique ingredients include chocolate and vanilla.

Beer enthusiasts can look forward to enjoying such specials as Spring Frenzy, Grizzly Bear IPA, Disco Macaw, Crafty Fox, Bite the Bullet!, Bingo Lady, Chocolate Ale, Parts and Labour, Germain, Roasted Nuts and Falstaff.

Pub manager Rob Hope said: "The festival is a great celebration of real ale.

"It will allow us to showcase a selection of superb beers, including those from overseas, over a 12-day period, at great value-for-money prices.

"It will also give our customers the opportunity to enjoy a number of beers which have not previously been available in the pub, as well as those brewed specially for the festival."

Patrons can also try three third-of-a-pint tasters at the price of a pint, and tasting notes for all beers will be offered.

All the ales will be available to order at the bar or via the Wetherspoon app and cost £2.49 per pint.
