A MISSING rescue cat adopted by an RSPCA worker after she became attached to him when he was in her care has returned home.

Pumpkin is the smallest cat from the 'Hawcoat Five' litter trapped last year and had to be hand-fed. His mother was feral and was successfully trapped and neutered after a long period of patient work from the RSCPA staff.

Alex, a cat coordinator, hand-fed Pumpkin to get his weight up and bonded with him so much that she decided to keep him despite only originally taking him in for foster care.

She appealed for information through the RSPCA Furness and Barrow social media page on February 23 when he went missing. She said 'he is so loved and missed.'

Alex has since confirmed Pumpkin was eventually found and returned home.
