The children of Barrow and the rest of Cumbria are being invited to become the next generation of police officers.

Cumbria Police announced on Sunday that they were aiming to encourage more people aged between 13 and 17 to join their cadet ranks.

Three open evenings are still set to take place, with the recruitment drive in Barrow happening on Tuesday, February 27, between 6pm-8pm at the police station.

Those interested can fill in the form here to book a time slot, though a limited capacity means that the child can only be accompanied by one adult.

Official cadet recruitment will then open on Monday, March 4 to allow the next wave of officers to begin their journey.

A similar open evening will be occurring in Kendal on Monday, February 26, with another event in Penrith booked for Wednesday, February 28.
