A Valentine's Day post box topper that was discovered in Millom has gone viral on the internet.

The knitted bonnet was discovered by a passerby outside Millom post office in the square on St George's Road.

The red and white 3D crochet is of two swans surrounding a love heart over the words 'be my Valentines'. Three love hearts decorate the side to compliment the shape of the post box.

The post box topper is believed to have been created by a group of local women known as the Crochet Fairies.

The photo was posted in a dedicated UK Post Box Topper group and exceeded surrounding Valentine's Day-themed creation by hundreds of likes, with the total now standing at 1,100.
