SOUTH Lakes Police responded to three incidents involving disqualified drivers in one day.

On January 23 the Neighbouring Policing Team conducted targeted work around disqualified drivers who were ignoring the driving ban imposed on them by the Magistrates Court.

South Lakes Police stated that one driver was being reported to court for disqualified driving and no insurance after the force caught him in Kendal.

Two vehicles were removed from their owners in Windermere and Kendal.

Follow-up work today, January 24, resulted in an unrelated person being stopped, searched and found in possession of controlled drugs.

A spokesperson for South Lakes police said: "Disqualified drivers are banned from driving for good reason, often because they have driven with drugs and/or alcohol in their system, they drive dangerously and have committed multiple driving offences. They put us all at risk."

If you have concerns about someone driving who you know is disqualified, please get in touch.
