POWER may not be restored to homes until 6pm on Monday, Electricity North West has warned.

Thousands of homes, including across Cumbria, have no power due to Storm Isha.

A statement from ENW said: "Due to the current weather conditions in our region and across the UK caused by Storm Isha we are experiencing high levels of disruption to our electricity network. We currently have over 7,000 properties without electricity.

"The high wind speed means it is unsafe for our teams to climb poles and trees to fix incidents. We will restore customers remotely where we can however it is highly likely the restoration efforts will continue through Monday. We currently expect incidents to be restored by 18:00 tomorrow - Monday 22nd January 2024. We will have extra teams available first thing to support with restoration and we will work to repair and restore the power as quickly as possible.

"If you or somebody in your household requires additional support during a power cut please call us on 105, wait times will be longer than usual, but we do have extra support to handle your queries. Thanks for your patience."
