Barrow is set to be treated to the music of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra for the first time this weekend.
The orchestra will be performing at The Forum on Saturday from 7pm with their 'Bizet, Beethoven and Barrow' show.
The arrival of the orchestra was described as a 'significant cultural investment' in the area, acting as the beginning of a three-year partnership between the town and the Liverpool organisation.
On Saturday, Chief Conductor Domingo Hindoyan will lead performances of Bizet’s Prelude from Carmen and Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony.
In between the two standout renditions, Hindoyan will take part in a live Q&A session whilst introducing the audience to the works of Beethoven.
The next concerts scheduled to take place will be at Barrow Library in March with one being a 'dementia friendly' performance and the other being designed for children under the age of five.
