A SERIES of spring concerts featuring the very best emerging musicians is coming to a Lake District town.

A series of concerts organised by Lake District Music's spring is set to occur at Ambleside Parish Church and Ambleside Parish Centre.

From Beethoven’s ‘Kreutzer’ Sonata to reimagined classics, there is something for everyone in five 60-minute concerts from February to late May.

Opening Lake District Music's spring concert series on Thursday, February 1 at 1pm is Akiko Saxophone Quartet. The young talents have been playing together for two years and mesmerising audiences ever since forming at the Royal Northern College of Music with their vast array of classical, jazz, bebop, and contemporary repertoire.

Across February, March, April and May, Ambleside will see the performances of The Glasgow Duo, Heartwood String Quartet, Hanna Bachmann and London Central Brass Quintet.

In addition, the series of concerts will also count with the annual day of community music-making, known as the Lake District Music's Day of Brass.
