A FERRY service is going to be closed for planned work.
Windermere Ferry will be closed on Friday, January 19, from 10am to 2.30pm for planned work.
A spokesperson for the service said: "We apologies for any inconvenience caused, and will update on progress."
Windermere Ferry carries up to 18 cars and over 100 passengers. Crossing normally takes 10 minutes, including loading, safety checks and the journey across the lake.
It takes people, vehicles, horses and cycles across the lake, linking the eastern shore of the lake and the countryside between Windermere and Coniston on the west, where there are many attractions and facilities for walking, riding and cycling.
Tickets can be purchased on board the ferry - blue badge holders who display a badge travel for free along with emergency services.
