OVER 150 customers in Bowness and Windermere have been left without power after an unexpected underground cable issue. 

Electricity North West is currently responding to an incident with a cable that provides power to 166 homes and businesses in the area of Annisgarth Drive. Postcodes affected are as follows: LA23 2HB, LA23 2HE, LA23 2HD, LA23 2HP, LA23 2JT, LA23 2JU, LA23 2JS, LA23 2JZ, LA23 2JR, LA23 2HU, LA23 2ES LA23 2HF, LA23 2HG, LA23 2HX, LA23 2HR, LA23 2HD, LA23 2HS. 

The estimated time of restoration will be at 10.23pm, according to the Electricity North West website. The incident was first reported at 4.23pm. 

The Electricity North West website states: "We didn't know before your electricity went off that this was going to happen but now we know, rest assured we will get your power back on safely and as quickly as possible.

"Please note that all our timescales are estimated based on previous experience and may change if new information becomes available while our engineers are fixing the issue. With underground power cuts, we may need to dig to repair the cable and this can sometimes extend the length of time you are without power."
