BOWNESS and Windermere Town Council has informed the police of possible criminal damage as a bus shelter appears to have been damaged by a car.
The shelter on Lake Road outside Goodly Dale Cottages was damaged yesterday (January 7) evening.
Town council clerk Sally Parkyn said: "It appears to have been hit by a vehicle which has pushed the seat against the opposite window breaking that too. It seems to have been between 6pm and 8pm so it is possible that someone may have seen something or caught it on a dash cam. A witness says it was a small car driven by a young male. The car might have a bit of green paint where it hit."
She said that the police have been informed, and asked anyone with more information to contact the clerk at clerk@windermere-tc.gov.uk or 07476967581.
