BARROW town centre hosted a 'very successful' Christmas Stamp Card Trail on Saturday.

The free event, which lasted until 4pm, saw a day full of fun activities and live music.

Starting at 10am, visitors collected stamp cards from the eight activity locations and filled them in by visiting each one and taking part in the activities.

They then handed their stamp cards into a location to be entered into a prize draw.

The free activities included:

Ice Rink - Barrow Outdoor Market

Curling Rink - Barrow Outdoor Market (Sponsored by Brilliant Barrow )

Snowboard Simulator - Holiday Inn Express, Barrow-in-Furness & South Lakes

Christmas Card Making - Cumbria Sewing & Craft Centre

BarrowFull Creative Skills Workshop - The Derby Inn

Snowball Toss - Baby Bitz

Toy Testing - The Entertainer

Snowball Cup RC Racing - Jenny Stitches

Find The Elf - Expressions Barrow

Barrow Business Improvement District manager Paul Hodgson said: "It was extremely busy and it's been a really successful event.

"We wanted to encourage families to come to the town centre and enjoy the free activities which in turn has been great for local businesses.

"The weather has stayed dry and it's been a really great day with plenty of happy and smiling faces."

Organisers will take a few days to organise the stamp cards that were given in with the winner being announced around the middle of next week.

Next week, Barrow Town Centre will also see the return of the free Santa Express after it was postponed due to the heavy snowfall.

The land train promises to help out last minute Christmas Shoppers on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 December from 10am - 4 pm.
