The scheme has been launched by Westmorland and Furness Council in celebration of the King's Coronation.

Community groups, charities, schools and community spaces in the area are invited to apply.

The fund will award grants up to £15,000 per group and will be given for orchards of a minimum of five fruit and/or nut trees planted until March 31 2025.

The deadline for expressions of interest to be received is midday on January 8 2024.
