This weekend model railway enthusiasts are being welcomed to a West Cumbrian exhibition, the region's most extensive yet.

With a remarkable 17 layouts anticipated, traders from various locations will entertain and inform modellers.

From Bognor Regis, a renowned supplier will offer tools, paints, and elusive bits.

MTFG, a second-hand stall from Reeth, will have rare parts for older models and missing components for kits.

Carlisle's C&M Models will present a selection of new Ready to Run (RTR), while Crafty Hobbies from Barrow-in-Furness will feature both new RTR items and second-hand gems.

Furness Models will showcase an extensive selection of second-hand models and accessories, and Dumfries-based Paul Barker is clearing out his new stock.

Literature enthusiasts can explore GM Transport books, offering an excellent selection for avid readers.

Local groups, including the Cumbrian Railways Association and Workington Transport Heritage Trust, will have their own published books and souvenirs on sale.

The Derby Lightweight Preservation Group will provide insight into the restoration of their unit, originally used on the Cumbrian Coast Line.

Additionally, the West Cumberland Railway Museum stand, representing St Bees, will be selling surplus items.

For younger enthusiasts, Thomas the Tank Engine will make a return, inviting operators to join the interactive experience.

Computer enthusiasts can explore a simulation area where they can 'drive a train' on local lines, guided by experienced enthusiasts.

 

For aspiring modellers, the Scalefour Cumberland room will provide guidance on essentials, and the Carlisle and District O Gauge Group will demonstrate how sound modules work in their locomotives.

The exhibition, presented by Solrail, runs from 10am to 5pm, on Saturday, November 18, and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, November 19.

Admission for adults is £7, with accompanied children entering for free.
