ASDA staff confirmed that the petrol station is not open in Barrow after Storm Debi caused damage to the structure.

A video taken by Louise Warwick shows a section of the roof blown off the petrol station on Walney Road. The store itself is still open.

Storm Debi has hit Cumbria today (November 13), with the Met Office issuing an amber alert for wind until 6pm.

It said: "A spell of very strong westerly winds is expected to develop later Monday morning across North West England in association with Storm Debi. Inland gusts of 60mph to 65 mph are likely in places whilst along the coast gusts of 70mph to 80 mph are expected. Winds will gradually ease into the evening.”

It is not known when the petrol station will reopen.
