Police have had more reports of stolen quad bikes recently in Cumbria.
This week they had three reports, one in West Cumbria and two in the South.
A spokesperson from Cumbria police said: “The nights are drawing in and thieves are taking advantage of this.
“Please continue to report suspicious activity, the team follow up on each of these reports.
“Quad bike owners, please remain vigilant and assess your security.”
The police recommend that trackers and immobilisers are installed, that property is marked with SelectaDNA and that signage of this fact is installed around premises, items are stored in a secure location and kept out of sight when not in use, good quality lighting and motion activated CCTV with an alarm system are installed, and to note down VIN and engine numbers.
