The independently owned, family-run home care provider Alcedo Care has expanded further in Cumbria with a new office opening in Ulverston.

The care provider's new branch on Morecambe Road signals an investment of roughly £225,000 and creates around 100 local jobs.

It is Alcedo’s second office in the region, following the successful opening of the Kendal branch over a year ago.

With Alcedo's Ulverston office, the fast-growing company can deliver up to 2,000 hours of care per week for individuals wanting to remain in their homes.

The Ulverston branch was headed up by Victoria Leecy, who is also the registered manager at the Kendal branch.

This new branch is set to secure additional clients across Cumbria, with an impressive roster of home care services including personal care, nursing, nurse-led complex care, as well as support and companionship.

They also offer live-in care and children’s complex care services.

Andy Boardman, Managing director of Alcedo Care Group, welcomed the expansion.

He said: “Just over 12 months ago we opened our Kendal branch which has been hugely successful.

"Demand for home care continues to soar in the region, so we decided to strategically open a second branch in Ulverston to cater for additional clients across Cumbria.”

Supporting Victoria is Abigail Capstick, who is the care manager for the Ulverston branch. She said: “It’s great news that we have opened a second branch in Cumbria, allowing us the opportunity to expand across the region reaching more clients in need of our services.”

Victoria is looking forward to managing the two branches, focusing on enhancing their presence, and fortifying Alcedo’s reputation in Cumbria.

She said: “The last year has been incredible in Kendal and to be able to enhance our presence in the region so quickly is a testament to the desire for home care from those wishing to remain in their own homes but in need of personal care, support and companionship as well as nursing and more complex medical requirements."

The Alcedo Care Healthcare Group now operates 18 offices across North England and Wales; including locations from Birkenhead to Preston and further afield in Wigan and Wirral.

The company has been rated among the top 20 large home care groups for all ages, four years running.

Alcedo Care is steadily driving towards its goal of owning and operating 30 branches across North England and Wales by 2025.
