TRIBUTES have been pouring out to celebrate the life of a 'genuine treasure' in the music community.
Paul Bryden was well known across Furness for his involvement in local groups and his passion for music.
He died at his home at the age of 75 on October 4.
Production director of Walney Junior Amateur Operatic Society Mark Johnson remembered Mr Bryden as an 'extremely talented man' when it came to music.
He said: "He was Walney Junior's Musical Director as he did with a number of other societies in the area for a number of years and even after that he still found the time to support the society by playing guitar for the orchestra over the years, which he will also be well remembered for years to come.
"He really was a warm-hearted, genuine treasure to our local area and we will be joining our fellow societies in mourning the loss of such a special man."
Mr Johnson said that Mr Bryden would 'always put a smile' on his face.
He said: "He did used to make me laugh when he used to turn up to show meals with his own jar of chillies - little things like that will always put a smile on my face.
"Paul, you will be and already are greatly missed by us all. It will be a strange feeling looking down at that orchestra pit and not seeing you do what you did best. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends through this difficult time."
A spokesperson for Walney Musical Theatre Company said: "Paul was an incredible man, an accomplished and highly skilled musical director and a teacher who supported so many young people in the area through his teachings in schools but more than this, he was a tremendous friend to have.
"Nothing was ever too much. His kindness, generosity and friendship will be sorely missed. Put simply, he was one of the best, as is evident from the outpouring of tributes of the last few days - he’s left an indelible mark on the theatrical and musical scene in the area."
