This year's 'Apple Day' in Ulverston has proven to be more popular than ever, with the apples completely selling out.
The annual event, which took place on Saturday, October 7, invited locals to press apples, take home fresh fruit juice, and compete in a 'Bake Off' competition.
The money donated through the fundraising day will go to Ford Park, which hosted the event.
Suzanne Edgley, Grants, Trust and Fundraising Officer for the park, said: "We are a small team at Ford Park and couldn’t do any of this without our amazing volunteers.
"As a local charity, money raised from the events we hold throughout the year help us keep the park open and a safe and beautiful place to visit."
The Bake Off competition was judged by Mark Satterthwaite, owner and head chef of Base Restaurant and Park Maintenance Officer Toby Nicholson.
Star Baker was awarded to Fiona MacDonald for her delicious apple cake, which went down a treat with both judges.
"Our community orchard has a selection of apple trees, and our gardener Hazel and volunteers harvest the fruit just in time for Apple Day, and this year we sold out," Mrs Edgley added.
"Children love the crafts and traditional style games and love exploring the park and garden."
This year, Garden Organics and the Master Composters officially opened the new compost demonstration site at the park
The visitors came along to learn all about composting, and to sieve their own compost to take home.
Shirley-Anne Wilson, Chair of trustees, said: “This is one of my favourite events because I get to see families and the community enjoying all that Ford Park has to offer.
"I thank everyone for their support for our wonderful green space and our terrific team who make it all happen.”
Cumbria Wildlife Trust, Shed1 Ulverston, Ceramics by Peter and Marie Graves, CA Creations, Fletchley’s Personalised Designs, Wakey Makey, Party Painter, South Lakes Honey, and Milkshake Madness supported the event as exhibitors.
