Here are some of the Christmas events you need to look out for!

The Whitewater Hotel at Newby Bridge

Their Christmas Fair and Market will welcome some small local businesses selling homemade crafts, tropic skincare and jewellery.

Between 10am and 5pm on Saturday November 18, The Whitewater are hoping to raise as much money as possible for St Mary’s Hospice.

“The Hospice means a lot to our members of staff, every penny helps,” they said. “The best thing about Whitewater Hotel at Christmas is the beautiful scenery, family atmosphere and home comforts.”

The Whitewater are looking for more stall holders, the last date for registration is Monday October 20.

Ulverston Dickensian Festival

The town is delighted for their 2023 Christmas festival. There will be roving street performers, hot mulled wine, a town-full of wonderful stalls, and costume parades through the streets.

Dress up if you want to and enjoy the atmosphere as the festivities come to life on November 25 and 26.

Enjoy brass bands, singers, magicians, fire eaters, jugglers, stilt walkers, and fairground rides. There will be lots of different street food vendors to choose from as well as stalls offering the perfect Christmas gifts.

The Swan Hotel and Spa at Newby Bridge

Hoping to host upwards of 25 stalls, the Swan’s Christmas Fair will have with everything from crafts, art and homeware to delicious food and stocking fillers.

From 11am to 5pm on November 18 and 19, they will showcase goods from small and local businesses from the area.

There will be live music from Dennis Horan on the Saturday and Hayden Small on Sunday, while children can visit Santa’s grotto. Get your tickets here.

Come and enjoy Lunch with Santa or a wreath making workshop, Christmas at the Swan is a really busy time, and they “absolutely love seeing our guests get into the Christmas spirit!”

Beetham Nurseries

This year, they’re going the extra mile, with two Christmas Market Weekends!

Welcoming a number of local businesses each weekend, Beetham will have delicious food and drink, plenty of Christmas family fun plus live music and festive cheer.

Thursday November 30 and Thursday December 7 will be late night shopping evenings, open until 7.30pm.

There will be a naughty elf hunt, children's crafting, a colouring competition and wreath making workshops.
