A HEADTEACHER from a Lake District school is celebrating the achievements of the students who received their GCSE results today.
John Ruskin School students received their long-awaited GCSE results this morning.
Headteacher Peter Backburn said it had been a 'fantastic morning of celebration' with their students at John Ruskin School.
Mr Backburn said: "It feels like the past five years with this group have flown past - they have been a credit to our school with the resilience they have demonstrated during difficult times.
"Our families have been a great support to the school and we hope these results go some way to repay the efforts they have put in over the past five years. Today is about celebrating some of the incredible achievements of our young people.
"It is for this reason that we like to recognise the individual success stories below and congratulate all the young people on their achievements today and wish them all the very best for the future.”
Pleasing results were achieved by many, including Dani Birch who achieved 5 grade 9s, four grade 8s and a grade 7 across all her exams.
Theo Coates, Lily Dan and Lillie Johnson whose average grade across all ten of their subjects was a grade 8.
