Ulverston Victoria High School is celebrating itsbest results ever as 87 per cent of Year 13 students have been accepted into their first choice universities, setting a new school record.

“A bit of the stress was relieved by UCAS,” said Cameron Coats, who explained that he woke up this morning to find he had been accepted to Oxford where he will study Physics.

He was 'very happy to know the hard work paid off' as he achieved three A*s and an A in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science. Cameron said: “I’m definitely looking forward to life after A levels, Oxford will be a big change but it’s a nice city and I’m looking forward to it."

Despite struggling a bit with exam technique, Ross Giblin 'couldn’t have asked for more'” than two A* and an A in Law, Sociology and History. To celebrate securing a place at Warwick, studying History, Ross was heading for a celebratory 'second breakfast at Greggs.'

While she was 'scared of doing really, really badly,' Freya Ashcroft was 'very happy' with her 'crazy results' as she achieved an A* and three As across Geography, English Language and Sociology. Freya will be heading to Newcastle to study accounting and finance but she said: “I wouldn’t have improved so much without the teachers who helped me prepare for my exams.”

'Surprised' by two A*s and three A grades, Rebecca O’Donovan thought she had 'flopped on one of the papers' but happily discovered that she will be able to study Veterinary Medicine at Cambridge - after taking a gap year and training to become a scuba diver.

Even after being accepted into Cambridge to study Medicine, Gillian Wells was still 'nervous' to find out her results. With three A*s and a B in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and English Language, Gillian is 'happy and excited for university.'

Shubham Kukreti was 'buzzing' to find out he had achieved three As in Maths, Chemistry and Biology and has been accepted into UCL to study medicine. Shubham said the second year was a lot tougher and he really had to study.

With two A*s and two As, Henry John will be going to study Immunology and French in Manchester. After great results in Biology, Chemistry, French and his Extended Project Qualification on how viruses can be used in the treatment of cancer, Henry enjoyed 'instant relief' when he found out his grades. Now that 'all the hard work paid off' Henry is looking forward to the next step and hopes to study a year abroad, learning French in Paris.
