A PROJECT that asked the community to produce art on the blank side of postcards is to be showcased at a local exhibition.

The Return to Sender project sent out postcards to groups, artists and local people and then asked people to return their work.

The free exhibition will be open to the public at The Cooke’s Studios on Abbey Road, Barrow, from July 20 – July 29 and will feature artwork produced by schools, learning hubs, charities, residential homes for the elderly, the public and artists of all ages and backgrounds.

At an event on Wednesday July 19 (12pm-2pm and 6pm-8pm) will be a silent auction where bids are to be put in an envelope by each picture/set of pictures. The highest bidder will then be contacted after the conclusion of the exhibition.

All money raised will be donated to YouthAbility Youth Services on Walney Island which provides a range of services for young people with disabilities.
