BREWERY bosses are looking for new licensees to run a number of pubs across South Cumbria.

Robinsons Brewery is searching for business partners to take the reins at taverns across the county.

Among those is The Globe in Ulverston which has remained closed since February while the brewery looks for the ‘right business partner’ to transform the historic pub.

Ben Robinson, director of tenanted operations at Robinsons, previously said bosses are looking to reinvent the pub into ‘something fresh and exciting’ for Ulverston.

He said: “In regards to The Globe, we’re looking to reinvent the pub into something fresh and exciting for Ulverston, transforming it from a traditional pub into an all-day community café/cocktail bar serving light bites. We’ve got a selection of great pubs and licensees in the town and see a gap for something new and a little different to Ulverston’s current great drinks offering.

“We’re beginning our search to find a modern forward-thinking business partner who can see the incredible potential of the venue and wants to work together to be part of this exciting new project.

“We’re looking for somebody with an appetite for doing things differently in the town and stepping into a market the town is missing.”

Five months since advertising the role, Robinsons is still searching for a new business partner to take on the reins.

The brewery also has a number of other vacancies available at sites across Cumbria.

These include The Heron in Kendal which is looking for a new licensee as well as the Ship at Roose and the Coach House in Bentham.

An opportunity is also available to take over the Pig & Whistle in Cartmel.

A spokeswoman for Robinsons said there has ‘quite a bit’ of interest in this role but nothing has been signed off as of yet.

This property also has investment planned, she added.
