AN INDEPENDENT fabric shop has changed its premises to provide clients with more space and make new services available.

Jenny Stitches closed its doors at its shop at 82 Dalton Road in Barrow and has reopened next door at numbers 78-80.

The shop celebrated its first grand opening with dozens of people visiting the new site on Saturday.

Jenny Fazackerley, the owner of the shop, said: "It was a brilliant opening. We had a good crowd and everybody was very happy and excited.

"People thought the shop was beautiful, and we had really good feedback."

She added: "We have kept the shop white and bright as it has always been very important. We also incorporated having the shop front painted purple."

Jenny said the reason for moving into a new place was to gain more space to browse and add new product lines and services, including workshops and events.

"I'm going to be going into more furnishing and upholstery fabrics," added Jenny.

Jenny Stitches was created in March 2019 in Barrow Market Hall when a local fabric shop announced its doors were closing.

After two years of establishing the business within the market and opening an online store, the shop moved to a newly refurbished shop unit on Dalton Road.

Two years later the shop has now moved to its new premises.

Jenny Stitches stocks a wide range of dressmaking fabric and independent sewing patterns both online and in their fabric shop.

All of their dressmaking fabric is hand-picked by Jenny, which ranges include cotton jersey, viscose, cotton lawn, denim, sweatshirt and corduroy.

They have patterns from over 12 independent designers and have the full New Look and Simplicity ranges in stock.

Jenny's Stitches is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
