An Ulverston-based engineering company has rewarded its staff with a luxury teambuilding day for achieving above-target mid-year growth and has announced new roles to support business growth.

Bender UK, one of the world’s leading providers of solutions that make electrical infrastructure safe and smarter, in industries including defence, healthcare, rail and eMobility, hosted the team-building event at Eaves Hall in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire.

The day comprised of a business update, a leadership get-to-know-you Q&A and a customised team-building afternoon followed by drinks, artisan pizza and ice cream.

Gareth Brunton, Bender UK’s managing sirector said: “As predicted 2023 is proving to be another phenomenal year for Bender UK.

“We have many projects to deliver and a very healthy opportunity pipeline, new customer service solutions in development, growth in our core business in critical industries, as well as a rise in potential business in areas such as energy, renewables and eMobility.

At the start of the year, Bender UK forecast increasing business turnover by 30%, and in January announced an additional ten new roles to be appointed during 2023, with further positions now added to celebrate growth in the business.

“We are passionate about growing our team and providing opportunities for people to learn and develop," added Mr Brunton.

“This helps us to retain staff and creates opportunities in our regional offices in Ulverston, St Ives and Ireland. We purposely employ our teams in various locations to better serve our customers, which also means we can avoid being impacted by regional skills shortages. I am delighted we can now add an additional four roles to the ten already planned for 2023.

“In the past 12 months, Bender has invested heavily in a new purpose, fresh branding, and a people and business strategy. The company has ambitious plans to grow significantly in the next five years and we are looking forward to what the future holds for us and investing significantly in all areas of our business.”
