THE Ghyll ladies' choir are back for another night of music on June 30 at the Ulverston Methodist Church.

Their programme is set to feature a wide range of music ranging from classical to traditional to popular melodies.

Musical director Deborah Milledge has worked hard on each of the members' vocal techniques from contralto to soprano, to ensure their voices are blended in order to create a harmonious sound.

Songs in the programme include classical items by Elgar, Johann Strauss, Armstong Gibbs and Stanford.

Also included in the programme are nostalgic pieces in the form of We'll Gather Lilacs and The Bell's of St Mary's, as well as more familiar melodies such as folk song, Blow the Wind Southernly and excerpts from the musical The King and I.

The choir, which has been an established part of the Ulverston music scene for over 80 years, is to be accompanied on the piano by Margaret Harrison and will see local artists such as young singer Mia Craig perform between choral items.

Admission on the night is £8 and is payable on the door.
