Barrow has been a home to some of our readers for over 70 years.

We asked how long you have lived in Barrow and many people said they have lived in the town their whole life.

Deborah Anne Edmondson said she has lived in Barrow all of her life, except when she was 23 and “moved down south for a year.”

John Sinclair moved to the town in 1972 and said: “Still got my home there!”

Maggie Pease said: “All my life,” and Sarah Smith said she has lived here, “since birth, 41 years ago!”

David Armstrong moved to Barrow in 2004 and said: 'Don't regret it one bit.”

Chris Maitland lived in the town for 41 years until a “life-changing surgery” meant “having to move away”, he said: “It’s been a blast, new chapter begins.”

Neil Buckingham, Joanne Myers  and Dave Boyle all said they have lived in Barrow “too long.”

Andrew Chavez lived here for 23 years until he “left 28 years ago to work in London.”

Emma Rose has lived in town for 18 years. She said: “I've now lived here longer than anywhere else. It's home.”

Don Jesson has spent 70 years living in Barrow but said he would “move tomorrow” if he had the money.

Jayne Treen said: “Barrow born and bred."

Sue Guttridge said: “Wish I stayed there,” and Tracy Cherry said she has lived in Barrow all of her life and “wouldn’t be anywhere else!”

Margaret Clarke moved to Barrow in “February 1967”, while Joe Jefferson said he has been living in the town for almost 70 years and “love it.”

Julie Clarke was born in Barrow but left to live in California for ten years. She said: “The grass isn’t always greener. I’m so happy I came home.”

Dean Garnett said: “17,155 days,” which totals about 47 years.

Carol Curwen won the title for the longest time living in Barrow, with 76 years.
