READERS have wished a 'happy retirement' to the owners of a butcher that will close next month.
N&S Rhodes Butchers will close their doors on July 29 after being in business for 36 years.
The business, owned by 67-year-old Norman Rhodes and his wife, 66-year-old Sue Rhodes, has been part of Barrow Market Hall for 30 years.
However the couple said it was 'time to call it a day.'
Barbara Robson said: "Tom and I wish you both many happy years of good health and enjoyment in your retirement. You will be sadly missed. I can’t remember a week when I have not been to you for meat. With love Tom and Barbara."
Denise Dacre said: "Happy retirement, sad you are going though."
Michael Docherty said: "Hope you both have a long and happy retirement. We will miss coming to you and having a chat."
Leslie Trotter said: "What about my sausages ? Enjoy your retirement you've more than earned it."
