BARROW AFC have announced that Josh Kay is set to leave the club this summer after five years at the club.

This comes after the terms of a new deal could not be agreed.

In a short statement on social media, the club said: "Josh Kay will leave the club this summer after terms could not be agreed for him to extend his stay at the SO Legal Stadium.

"Thanks for everything, Josh"

Kay scored six goals for the Bluebirds in 37 appearances in the 2022/23 season after being deployed by manager Pete Wild in a variety of positions.

In a social media statement, the midfielder thanked the club and supporters.

He said: "It's been a crazy journey we've been on at this football club.

"So many ups and downs and so many memories to take with me.

"From promotion to survival to a top 10 finish I've enjoyed every minute.

"First of all I want to thank the fans for your support throughout my five years here, it's been top draw week in week out and it's been great to see the fanbase grow over the years.

"Though I could be a pain at times I hope that I brought you some good memories you won't forget.

"This club will always be a big part of my life and holds a special place in my heart.

"Thank you."
