Two award-winning directors will host a Q&A and screening of their critically acclaimed drama at The Farmer’s Arms in Lowick.

Blood Cells directors Luke Seomore and Joseph Bull will join The Farmer’s Arms’ Wednesday night ‘Soup Talks’ series at 6.30pm on Wednesday 14 June. The pub hosts locals or people passing through the area to share stories, films and expertise.

The talks are followed by a bowl of homemade soup in the pub’s Stable Bar.

The series has featured acclaimed gardeners, architects, authors and sculptors from across the UK so far.

The film follows an exiled young man on his journey home across the broken margins of modern Britain, a decade after his family’s farm was destroyed by the foot-and-mouth epidemic of 2001.

The drama premiered at Edinburgh International Film Festival where it was nominated for Best British Feature Film and Best Performance in a British Feature Film.

Luke Seomore said "Our film has got such different reactions from audiences across the world. We’re both really excited to screen the film at The Farmer’s Arms.

“It’s such an evocative setting and with it being so connected to the farming community, it will be fascinating to discuss with the audience.

“The cataclysmic effect of foot and mouth on the farming community was the spark for the whole story and we hope that the film resonates with The Farmers Arms’ community and will open up some lively and unique discussions."
