AN interactive theatrical game is coming to Barrow Park over the Father’s Day weekend (June 17-18).

Escape from Fort Lagoon, from Wake the Beast and Submersion Productions, is similar to an escape room but mostly played outdoors and at the end participants get the chance to continue their experience by swimming in the pool at Barrow Park Leisure Centre.

It imagines a world where water sources have tipped over the PH level safe for human consumption and is now a coveted resource fiercely guarded by the few.

It imagines a world where you can no longer swim and links to concerns over fresh-water sewage leaks across the nation’s waters.

The event promises to be the ultimate game of cat and mouse, with participants solving cryptic clues using app technology and through interactions with quirky characters.

Escape from Fort Lagoon comes to the town with thanks to the advisors of Barrowfull, Barrow-in-Furness Creative People and Places Programme, who have selected the experience for people to try.

Participants will need to bring swimwear and a towel as part of the adventure is inside Barrow Leisure Centre, though options are available for non-swimmers.

The experience lasts two hours and players form groups of up to eight people. Tickets are £12 plus a booking fee, with a percentage of the booking fee going to Water Aid.
