BEING slapped with a parking fine can dampen most people's mood at the end of a bank holiday day out - but not for one famous visitor to the Lake District.
Comedian Paddy McGuiness revealed that he found a dreaded ticket on his car after a hike up The Old Man of Coniston on Saturday (May 6).
The Phoenix Nights star and Top Gear presenter posted a series of selfies on his Instagram account, which has more than two million followers, after reaching the summit of the iconic peak, including one in Walna Scar car park, now a pay-and-display located just outside the village of Coniston.
Despite the fine, his narrative remained upbeat as he captioned: "Lovely tab up the Old Man Of Coniston today.
"I now feel like the old man of Bolton!" before adding the hashtag "#walnascar".
