BARROW AFC manager Pete Wild has said that he and his staff are 'really excited' for what the future holds after an impressive debut season.

It has been almost a year since the club unveiled the former Halifax Town and Oldham Atheltic boss as the Bluebirds head coach and in that time the club has gone from strength to strength, narrowly missing out on a playoff place.

Wild's Bluebirds welcome Steve Evans' promoted Stevenage to the SO Legal Stadium on bank holiday Monday in the final game of his premier season in charge of Barrow.

Ahead of the game, and reflecting on his tenure thus far, Wild shared his excitement as the club gears up for the future.

He said: "It is really exciting; the club produced some plans for me the other day of where they are trying to take the club and it is an exciting time.

"The staff are certainly really excited about the journey the club can go on and it is trying to be as progressive as possible but remembering that things like this take time and you do not want to go too quickly and end up missing a piece of the process, you want to go nice and slowly and make sure you achieve what you need to achieve."
