A CARTMEL peninsula amateur theatre production is set to wow murder-mystery fans with a pioneering performance in Grange.

Grange Drama will be presenting Agatha Christie’s acclaimed 'mystery play', Towards Zero, directed by Deborah Powell, at Lower Holker Village Hall for four nights from Wednesday to Saturday on June 7-10.

Rehearsals are currently underway for only the second Agatha Christie play under director, after The Hollow (1959), that the society has performed since it was first formed in 1947.

Grange Drama member Margaret McDonagh said: "It is nothing new that our summer production is to be staged away from our Grange base of Victoria Hall.

"Over the years at this time of year, Grange Drama has performed plays at a variety of venues, indoors and outdoors, throughout the wider area of South Lakeland.

"It is a pleasure to bring amateur theatre to both residents, those on holiday, and sometimes in support of local charitable causes."
