A NEW veterinary service operating 24/7 has officially swung open its doors.
Wild Side Vets is the newest addition to Abbey Road, Barrow.
The vets, which opened on Saturday, will be operating 24 hours, seven days a week, providing an out-of-hours emergency service for clients who choose to register with them.
The Barrow area has been without emergency provisions since IVC Evidensia, which operates Grove, Alexander, and South Lakes vets, announced in March 2022 that, due to vet shortages, they can no longer provide the service at their Barrow and Ulverston practices.
Barrow Business Improvement District wished the business well on their new venture.
A spokesman said: "Congratulations to Wild Side Vets on officially being open for business.
"Wishing you all the best on this new venture, and may your business thrive for many years to come."
Although inundated with requests for registration at the practice, Wild Side Vets is still taking on new pets.
The vet service will also deal with small animals including more exotic pets such as tortoises and parrots.
