Mourners don Burnley kit for funeral of Ulverston woman Holly Lambert

Mourners gathered at Ulverston Parish Church on Tuesday (March 28) to pay their respects to Holly Lambert who died last month.

Holly’s family said the majority of people who attended the funeral were dressed in their Burnley shirts - which was ‘even better than [they] could’ve asked for’.

Holly’s brother Ben Lambert described the service as ‘beautiful’ and thanked everyone for being there for the family.

He said: “We couldn’t be happier about the amount of people that came to support us and be there for Holly.

"The service was beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for anything better for her. I just want to thank everybody from me and my mum personally that came to be there for her.”

Holly was found unconscious in the area of Ulverston’s County Square shortly before 1.30am on February 20.

Cumbria Police arrested three people on suspicion of murder: a 40-year-old woman and two men, aged 28 and 61, in connection with Holly’s death.

A spokesman for Cumbria Police said the three remain on bail until a date in May.

A much-loved daughter and sister, Holly lived in Ulverston and had links to Burnley. She was due to marry her partner this year.

At the time of her death, Holly’s family and her partner released a tribute, describing her as the ‘life and soul of the party, lighting up every room she walked into’.

A fundraiser was launched in the days following Holly’s death to help give the much-loved daughter and sister the send-off she deserves.

More than £2,600 was raised on the Go Fund Me page for the funeral, allowing the family to give Holly an ‘amazing’ send-off.
