A BREWING company is celebrating its five-year anniversary with a new festival.
Roa Island Brewing Company isteaming up with Roa Island Boat Club to hold a mini beer festival.
The party is being held on Saturday April 1 to celebrate the brewery's fifth birthday and the boat club winning Furness CAMRA'S club of the year award.
Paul Bibby is the brewer at Roa Island brewery and his wife Lorraine is the steward at Roa Island Boating Club so they have been working together for many years.
The mini beer festival will feature a selection of the best award-winning local beers from Barrow, Dalton, Loppergarth, Ulverston and Cartmel.
The celebration is set to include acoustic entertainment, starting at 12pm on Saturday afternoon and continuing into Sunday, while The Brewery is open for a bite to eat.
Paul said: “We will have a couple of young acoustic guitarists performing in the clubhouse in the late afternoon and early evening.
“There will be a selection of grills, curries and more all day Saturday and full roasts on Sunday.
“There will be six of our beers on cask and keg over the weekend and a selection of other award-winning beers from Townhouse Brewery in Dalton, Healey's brewery in Loppergarth, Ulverston brewing company and Unsworth yard brewery from Cartmel.”
In October 2022, Roa Island Boating Club was among 14 clubs in the country to win the regional Club of the Year competition, awarded by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
