BARROW AFC got back to winning ways after completing a comeback victory against AFC Wimbledon.

Pete Wild's side bounced back from their 1-0 defeat against Harrogate Town at the first attempt thanks to goals from Niall Canavan and top-scorer Josh Gordon.

Gordon's return to goal-scoring comes after a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a hamstring problem and days after the Bluebirds announced the departure of forward Billy Waters to Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's Wrexham.

Using WhoScored.com, we took a look at how Pete Wild masterminded the comeback against the Wombles.

Statistically, this was a game in which the Bluebirds got back to their best and back to a standard that was lacking against Harrogate Town at the EnviroVent Stadium.

Despite conceding within five minutes, Wild's side took control of the match, with 59.2 per cent possession, and worked this possession well with 68 per cent passing accuracy compared to the visitor's 52 per cent.

The Bluebirds also edged the aerial duel stats winning 29 to the Dons' 27.

Johnnie Jackson's side did retain a foothold in the match with his side having 11 shots on goal to Barrow's eight.

However, both of these sides managed four shots on target, with the Bluebird's centre-half Sam Mclelland and Nall Canavan responsible for three of these four efforts.

All in all, this was the perfect response for the Bluebirds after their five-match unbeaten streak was ended by Harrogate Town.

The result also moves Barrow to within eight points of the play0ff places with eight games of the 2022/23 season left to play.
