A WALL along the seafront at Walney has collapsed into the beach after pressure from the waves.
This has left land and property open to erosion from the sea.
The wall started to fall at some point in the evening of Thursday, March 23.
A video taken by Andy Braithwaite shows the waves crashing against it and exposing the foundations.
Later photos taken by a reader show the wall collapsed.
Ten years ago, the sea was far enough back from West Shore Park that a road ran between the community and the beach, giving access to the north of the island. The road was badly damaged by a storm in 2013 and has deteriorated further since then.
