A BARROW motorist has been fined by a court after breaking the speed limit on a motorway.

Anthony Bernard Harris, 57, was said to have exceeded the 70mph limit while driving on the M6 near Garstang.

It happened between Junction 32 and 33 on August 21, according to papers from Preston Magistrates' Court.

The motorist, of Harrogate Street, was convicted under the Single Justice Procedure and did not have to appear in court.

For breaking the speed limit he was fined £184.

On top of that he was told to pay a £73 victim surcharge and costs of £90.

The court handed down five penalty points.
